🚨🚨 I have grown up eating variety of fishes back in Kolkata . Yes we Bengali eat lot of fish because it’s easily available, But when I moved to USA , getting variety of Indian fishes here was very difficult. But over the time it’s Changed but still we don’t get fresh water fish like Kolkata so i don’t make that often , after a long time that day I got a very good rohu, so here you go a rohu dish , the ingredients which I use to decorate the plate is the main ingredients used in this dish

Very simple recipe

4 6 PCs of rohu
1 bunch fresh cilantro
2 medium size tomatoes
5 green chili ( if you like spicy add more )
6 pods garlic
3 shallots thinly sliced
1/2 tsp kalonji (black onion seed )
Turmeric
Salt
Mustard oil

Apply salt and turmeric on the fish and keep aside

Make a paste of cilantro, chilli and tomatoes and garlic with very little Water

Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish take it out !!

In the same oil add the kalonji

Then add the thinly sliced onion fry till it soft
Add the cilantro paste fry a little add the salt , add 1/4 cup of water let it come to boil

Then add the fish cover and simmer for 10 min

Serve hot with rice !!

  1. Gorom crispy Mach bhaja , daal and bhat is pure bliss for Bangali. We cannot manage a meal without fish. Your presentation is always top notch. The piece of fish is my favourite , I called it “Pan Chaka”. ❤️❤️❤️ Keep uploading such lovely posts. Thank you ❤️💕❣️
