In Konkani/Maharashtrian ‘Ambat’ stands for sour or tangy and ‘tik’ or ‘tikhat’ stands for spicy, this dish have so many different bite spicy , tangy,underneath sweet note !! This post is for my friends munching_meals who is from goa and a seafood lover and amazing blogger !’

* 12-15 king prawn
* 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
* 6 tbsp oil
* Salt
* 1 medium onion thinly slice
* 2 medium tomato chopped
* 1 tsp jaggery powder

For making fresh Ambotik paste
* 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
* 1 tbsp Coriander Seeds
* 4 Cloves
* 8-10 dry red chilli if you don’t like spicy use Kashmiri chilli
* 1/2 cup freshly grated coconut
* 5 cloves of garlic
* 1/2 tap chopped ginger
* 1 tbsp vinegar

1. Soak the Red chilli in water for a while then grind all the ingredients under ambotik paste with very little water 

2. Clean the prawn and add turmeric salt and keep aside , after 10 min or so fry the prawn for just 1 min each side 

3. In a heavy bottom pan, add oil and once warm enough add the chopped onions and start frying for couple of min then add chopped tomatoes.
4. Once they turn soft add the ambotik paste 

5. Keep frying until you see oil coming out to the side , then add 1/2 cup water , jaggery bring it to boil and then add the prawn , turn down the heat and cover , make sure you don’t overlook the prawn !!
6. I like to take out the prawn after couple of min and then dry the gravy a little bit more !!

Serve with hot basmati rice
